To start, I am Shane Paris from Halifax Nova Scotia Canada. I am currently the New Hire Sales Trainer for Web.com in Halifax, Nova Scotia Canada. Through this role I am responsible for both inbound and outbound sales training for our new hire agents. If you don't know what Web.com is, we specialize in working with Small and Medium businesses and entrepreneurs to help them build their online presence and online marketing.

Through my course, I train my New Hires on everything from what makes a good domain name, what on-page SEO is vs. Off Page SEO, what online directories you need to be in as well as how you use Pay Per Click marketing and Facebook to be successful online.
Prior to being a sales trainer in Halifax, I worked as a small business consultant with Web.com where I have worked with thousands of small business owners over a six year period helping them become successful online.
A little bit more about myself and my sales background. I started in sales early on when I worked as an ice cream bike driver, in my home town of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. From there, I moved on to working manual labour (yes my American Friends, this is how we spell it in Nova Scotia) jobs for a few years. Through my high school years, I was lucky enough to join up with a student leadership organization called the NSSSA (the Nova-Scotia Secondary School Students Association) where I learned some very valuable lessons on leadership.
Once I graduated high school, I went to Saint Mary's University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. While at SMU I became the "Jack of all trades, Master of many". I worked on campaigns for the future student presidents of the students association SMUSA, I worked at the Saint Mary's Journal as the sports editor and marketing manager. I also was able to work for the Athletics Department (under Larry Uteck), the Alexander Keith's Nova Scotia Brewery, Pepsi, Workopolis and even on the Under 19 National Football Championships. Through all of these roles I also had the opportunity to work running half time shows at the AUS / CIS Basketball championships as well as AUS Hockey, Soccer and Volleyball championships.
While at Saint Mary's I also had the opportunity to not only run one but two Orientation Weeks (Frosh Week) for SMU, through some of the good years (2000, 2002).
While working at SMU during the university years, I needed to find some summer roles, and for two years I worked for Ambassatours Gray Line as a Double Decker tour guide and Seymour Splash tour guide. During this time, I realized how much I love tourism and tourism in Halifax. I went back for a second summer, where I worked on the Harbour Hopper being a guide as well.
Once I left SMU I moved on to working at Peddler's Pub in Halifax, running their promotions and their day to day logistics. I then found myself at Minacs contact center where I worked for HP doing sales and then full time training. I moved from HP to a recruiting role for a year, and then finally back into training where I went to India for a two week trip in 2007 and then to the Philippines for a three month stint in 2008 during this time I trained Toronto Star, Onstar and MBNA Credit Cards. When I completed my roles there, I moved on to working for CIBC for a year and then finally to web.com. As I mentioned before, I spent five years working on selling all of our products and have finally moved back into a training role.
If you are looking for a position with Web.com, feel free to drop me a line and I will be happy to forward you in the right direction, or if you are having problems with your web site, let me know and I will take a look.
